For me, it's because of the way the rankings work. Also, compared to Babble, there isn't as much an advantage for paying vs. non-paying members.

It isn't a question of advantage. It's a question of paying someone for maintaining a quality website and not being a leech.

So what brought that on Gman? I paid because I love being able to save the puzzle to date and Andy is right - I love this site and would really miss it if it disappeared. I used to play another sudoku game (brainy puzzle) that did disappear so if rumors of imminent demise brought this up - please pay!
