To CLG: Yes, I had thought about the exclusivity of 'red' status, but, even so, one would think that the total number of ellte members would gradually increase over time. I don't know why that's not the case.

I don't understand this - Who's Hot: This list shows the top 200 point totals earned by players over the past 2 weeks.

I am in that list, but not at the top - yet have completed every puzzle this year, never mind the past 2 weeks.

To jrs: I think the reason why the number of elites does not keep growing is that people drop off at approximately the same rate as others achieve that status. As time goes by, some players may get bored, develop other interests and/or priorities, or even die. These folks will gradually move down in the rankings.

Just finished yesterday's expert, for the second time. I, too, lost it when the server had its temper tantrum. I consoled myself that it would be simple to finish later, since I had saved a checkpoint near the end. Alas, when I returned to the puzzle today, I found that the checkpoint had been lost as well! Not that hard to do the second time around, just frustrating to have to duplicate the effort.

DING. Yes, rather slow, one move at a time. 26 is about right.
