Thanks, UTH, for reminding me it could have been MUCH worse. At least I was clothed. ;-)

Lin, I thought I had it bad when confronted with a small spider..lol I do not know how you manage with snakes roaming around the house *Shudders*

That's my phobia too. BBut I have 4 feline dependentsbso I "woman'd" up, armed myself with a cane, & as instructed by Animal Control, threw a blanket on the thing and waited for them to arrive to remove. Happily there have been no further sightings since Monday. Exterminator is coming tomorrow to do a full house inspection & fix any unorthodox access points to my house. Thx to all for the sympathy - starting to feel a little better. But it is weird to be afraid to walk into your own kitchen...

i would have grabbed my cats and hightailed it out of there

Moving is not exactly a financial option, but the thought crossed my mind. My cats all headed for the top floor & hid after Snake #1. Two of my cats "told" me where Snake #2 was the next day. After Snake #3 (& hopefully the last one) was removed on Monday, my cats have returned to 'owning the house', so I am feeling moderately optimistic that maybe it is just the 5 of us in here now. Fingers crossed.

what i don't understand is why they don't make sure there aren't unorthodox access points when they BUILD a house
11:14 am
hurshy
unless they do, and holes happen as the house settles? how old is your house?
11:15 am
Lin
20 yrs - townhouse. I am hoping the exterminators can answer some of those questions...

* sneaks in, with a large container of caulk, and fills any/all holes in my 64 year old house* - thankfully snakes are rare in the here, and prefer to be outdoors. I knew there was a reason why I love Wales!

Did it, no green, one nap, one unlucky guess, two lucky tandem guesses, both right.
