Update: Critter specialist visited today. Turns out I had termites who facilitated the entry point for the reptiles. Shame on me for letting my annual termite inspection lapse a few years back. The money I thought I was saving by letting that contract lapse is far exceeded by what I will now have to pay to get this mess corrected. Let this be a cautionary tale to anyone else out there.

P.S. All comments have buoyed my spirits. That and consumption of copious amounts of wine. Oh, and I am not really liking today's puzzle.

Lin, glad to hear your unorthodox entry points are being corrected, but sorry to hear it was termites. And that your efforts to be thrifty were thwarted. Obviously the termites are in cahoots with the BCs (nod to Hurshy) and possibly building contractors! Pesky things! Thankfully, termites aren't a problem here in western Oregon :)
