I got bored for a while too but just came back. Amuse myself on the easies by trying to do them in 4 or 5 minutes, or trying to complete a certain box of 9 first.

I like the mix and its randomness. As my time is pretty limited, I also appreciate the number of easy games.

Wow Tuco - no need to be nasty. When I first started playing, there really was a good mix - mediums and hards as well as easys and experts. Now there is a much bigger concentration of easys and experts. I liked the hards the best and there are hardly any any more. Just wondering what happened to the "mix". Good idea though, Phil.

janetb50: The information you look for could be easily extracted from the data I already collect at my website. I need to make some minor improvements on that page anyway, so based on your suggestion I will add a date range to the search that is already there. That should allow anyone interested in such things to get the answers for themselves at my site.

From a quick glance at the statistics I keep, it appears that the mix of puzzles changed around May 2012. Before May 2012 there were more medium and hard puzzles and less expert per month than there are now.

I have some ideas on writing a sudoku puzzle generator that allows you to specify what kind (easy, medium, hard or expert) you want. If I ever get that done and it works well perhaps I could sell it to Dr_God.

Another observation: The chat log used to be much more lively and fun. Have the boring puzzles driven the interesting people away?

I still enjoy the Easies. I get a quick "attaboy" from solving one. But, yes, Mediums are even better.
