My point was that claiming you needed no greens implies you have extraordinary powers of memory when nothing could be further from the truth, lol. Guessing requires no mental gymnastics whatsoever, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

jackt - I have at least 6 books on Sudoku techniques. Sometimes a puzzle is difficult to the point that even with the book and trying the various techniques, I cannot detect the one that will crack the puzzle. So I use Nishi - I start with a number and see if it leads to a completed puzzle or leads to one with a mistake. If it completes it, I was lucky, if it doesn't I try again. In a few rare cases, the "guess" is a learning experience. So your claim that guessing requires no mental gymnastics does not float my boat and frankly is wrong. This is not a contest on who uses the "purest" methodology to solve the puzzle. Besides, who are you to complain, at least Digondda paid for the privilege to play IronSudoku where as you and I did not.

Another lip syncher, lol. I may be wrong but it was the Doc who started the NGs to indicate he'd needed no greens to help him. I added the no guesses, because to do so without guessing is the sole accomplishment. If you in your mind think guessing is an accomplishment, let me help you out. It isn't. I'd love to hear how you think it is a learning experience though. OMG, stupid and proud of it. Six books. LOLOLOL.

Jackt, just a sidenote...you have issues. I am afraid, sadly, the ones you are missing are yours. If you cannot read your posts and see (or hear) your judgment, condescension, "better than", etc, you may be smart, intelligent, etc, but your insecurities and ego come through LOUD and CLEAR. Here's a short course, so you can begin to look at yourself and work on you, before showing your true colors to others by your commentaries...EGO is always recognized by it's "FACE" - fear, arrogance, assessments, condescension, control, expectations, entitlements and demands...by my count you are good to go on 4 of those in JUST 4 posts...Hope that helps.

And, by the way, the objective is to complete the puzzle. The joy is found in the path to completion. Each path is unique as each person's thought process (aka path) to arrive at completion is unique...FWIW.

A BOAT beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July —
Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear —
Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.
In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
Ever drifting down the stream —
Lingering in the golden gleam —
Life, what is it but a dream?

At this point they came in sight of thirty or forty windmills that are on that plain.
“Fortune," said Don Quixote to his squire, as soon as he had seen them, "is arranging matters for us better than we could have hoped. Look there, friend Sancho Panza, where thirty or more monstrous giants rise up, all of whom I mean to engage in battle and slay, and with whose spoils we shall begin to make our fortunes. For this is righteous warfare, and it is God's good service to sweep so evil a breed from off the face of the Earth."
"What giants?" said Sancho Panza.

A panther is like a leopard
But it hasn't been peppered.
When you witness a panther crouch
Prepare to say, "Ouch."
Better yet, when called by a panther,
Don't anther.
