awww! she must be a smart one. Has she started school yet?

We're home-schooling her. She can already read pretty well, and is learning addition and subtraction and the decimal system.

We're using a book called "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" and I like it a lot.

it sounds like she's probably the type who won't take much prodding to learn, if she's inquisitive enough to love playing sudoku.

Turtle, Professor Parry says, "today is going to be one of those days where I talk a lot."

I think she's interested now because her parents play. But if she accidentally learns some logic, and to love puzzles, I'm all in favor of it.

Wolf, when I started reading, I wanted to do it because my parents and big sister did it. Then I learned to love it in its own right.

i got in trouble a lot for reading during class in elementary school, instead of listening to the teacher.

I keep telling Gabrielle that reading is a kind of magic, and that once she can read for herself, she'll be able to go to magic places.

I only use those for triples and higher sets

I only use markers when I have to. It's more fun, and challenging, to solve without them.

i try not to unless i really get stuck

I try not to depend on them because when I solve sudoku on paper it's a terrible hassle.

What I really try to avoid is guessing. That seems to defeat the purpose.

I can usually keep track of hidden pairs and potential candidates in my head.

I'm pretty good about not marking with easys and mediums, but I have been able to very few hards ithout greens :( I dont know how you guys do it! :D

Sometimes it seems like a waste of time, but it reduces the number of greens I have to enter.

there's about three hidden triples and a hidden quad that open up just about the entire puzzle.

Then there's somthing im overlooking, 'cause ive been woking on it for days.

Ive found a couple triples...

I guess it's not "easy" per se, but I managed it on my second try just by isolating hidden sets and cross cutting.
