Thanks Tall Mike and Jainie, wish I had the time to research the advanced logical techniques. Too much going on. Love the quick fix of Sudoku to keep my brain active for 5 to twenty minutes then my patience gives out! Saving a few old experts for when I get ill or an injury and then I'll take the time to learn. After all anything would be preferable to daytime TV.

Phil: Sounds like you might be stuck in a rut. May I suggest that you try using one of those 5 to 20 minute time slots to start learning just one new angle on solving Sudoku? Your brain will be much more challenged by attempting to do something new rather than continually repeating the methods you are already totally familiar with. Even if you take a whole week to learn and practice a new method without actually solving one complete puzzle during that week, you will be making your brain do something different, which is really important for continued brain health. At least, that has been my experience.

slow starter, I didn't have the time to use more than basic crosshatching. Dropping in the greens revealed a singleton in an odd spot, which solved the whole puzzle pretty quickly.
