I started 9 yrs ago. In January, 2007, I'd come from Canada to my mother's home, because she was terminally ill. I was fortunate to spend her last few months with her. While with her, I was still working (data-heavy work on a dial-up line, no fun), but also had some free time. Don't remember how I found it, but I've been a regular ever since. Odd how I connect it with mom's dying, but those months I spent with her were wonderful.

I joined 6 months after the site started. I had just gotten so hooked on Sudoku that I did a search for it and found this site. I've loved it ever since. So, I may not be a charter member, but definitely close to the beginning. It was a little shocking the other day to read that it's nearly 10 years!! Congratulations, Dr God!

Passed my 10 year Babble anniversary last month quietly, so Sudoku must be the same - never signed up for pro here.
