Heres a modern dilemma and one that anyone would hope is never put in this position. A local young couple have a young child diagnosed with brain cancer but are refusing treatment. The doctors have just applied to the courts to begin chemotherapy and radiation as they say there is a 50% chance of recovery and possibly be cancer free if 5 years. Will find out more in a documentary tomorrow night.

One has to feel for everyone involved in making these very tough calls, parents, doctors and judges. Yet debate is surely healthy on the proviso that nobody is condemned or abused in the process.
