I accept the Electoral College, as we still have that archaic institution. But there is no mandate. I find Trump's antics post-election more troubling - appointing a known bigot, nonsensical tweets, infighting. His appearance on 60 Minutes demonstrated he is clueless as to the gravity of his position. And he still have the vocabulary of a 4th grader.

this "archaic institution" seems to have worked pretty well. mob rule is far more archaic, and far less successful. So go on pretending there's something wrong with middle america being able to protect itself against the hive-minded population centers elsewhere, but realize it is just that: pretending.

This archaic institution has failed us badly. "Middle America" is going to take us down with them.

Not that it wasn't failing before. But that wasn't the fault of either the Democratic or the Republican Party; they were doing what parties do. It's the fault of an uninterested and apathetic populace.

An uninformed populace, SamanthaJoy. I think it stems from a corrupt fourth estate and that corruption has led to where we are today, enabling, radicalism, hidden agendas, myopic viewpoints and distractions from the course of events we've been put on that will lead to tragic consequences on an unprecedented scale. Islamophobia? Seriously? We are supposed to accept the religious fanaticism of a distant culture and assimilate with them instead of the other way around? What I find unfathomable is what this will mean for America and especially American women. I just don't get it.
