There are 2 competing theories of government represented here. One theory posits that it is government's job to provide for the welfare of its citizens. The other theory posits that governments should establish justice. These 2 objectives are mutually exclusive. If you try to create economic security for all, you must forget about justice, because taking from the rich and giving to the poor is unjust and thievery.

Dr Who, what do you call the rich who avoid paying their taxes? Personally I think we should all pay more tax but make it unavoidable. Pretty easy, you make it a consumption tax and don't have tax avoidance schemes. Sadly as we are seeing in China, as in most of the world. Those in a position of power make the rules to suit themselves, usually at the expense of those less fortunate.

Taking from the rich. What a joke. How did the rich get that way? Usually from taking from Government which means taking from the people. Give me a break with your trickle down crap. It has never worked for the whole society. It only works for the rich.

With very few exceptions has anyone who is super wealthy not relied upon a government contract or a favorable bill in congress for either deregulating or regulating their businesses to their advantage.

And they hold on to their wealth by lobbying congress to change the tax code to benefit them. By lowering taxes on Capital Gains and unearned income. Thereby raising the tax burden on the lower and middle class. So the rich benefit by paying less for the services they "enjoy" and the rest of us end up paying more. Or we go without because the super rich can afford their own security forces and the best doctors etc.. with the tax cuts provided to them by their little toadies in government who were elected by the fools that believe in trickle down economics.

And if you don't like someone speaking up for the people, ban their books. Or at least try to. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/arkansas-\nlawmaker-introduces-bill-banning-howard-zinn-\nbooks-from-public-schools_us_58bd2365e4b0b998\n9418716e
