Glad to hear we are at least shutting down coal fired power stations.

The govt did try to say they would invest in clean coal but looks like they've realised its an oxymoron and the technology doesn't exist. They invested heavily on trials but they couldn't make it work.

Our Great Barrier Reef is a wondrous place that should be there for our childrens children but a couple of idiots like Trump in power and global warming will destroy it even faster.

Don't suppose he gives a s..t, as long as the rich oil gas and coal companies can help him Make America Great again. America can be great with investment in new technology like Tesla and their batteries. Let the old industries that are destroying the world go and create new jobs in new industries. If he keeps going, I think the world will start turning against him, we'll all stop buying American goods and services. Hope it doesn't come to that for the American jobs.

Most people I know are already thinking of going to anywhere but the US for holiday in protest at the increasingly rude and unfair way our citizens are often treated at the airports.

Trump caring about the Constitution is laughable. He overturned Obama's regs because he is doing a favor for Big Oil. I guess it is okay to do away with the royalties we used to get from drilling on our public lands too because it is "unconstitutional" to make companies share in their profits from drilling on OUR public lands. This is just an obvious give away to Big Oil at the expense of the People again. But some people are too blinded by ideology to see it. They will explain it away as being Obama's fault. What Trump is doing is not rolling back Obama's "unconstitutional" acts. He is giving away the treasury to his cronies. DUH.

tuco' rant of the day - Why do people continue to fly the Stars and Bars? Especially up here in the Northeast? Don't they understand that some of my ancestors died putting down those traitorous bastards? First amendment right? I guess so. Acting like an idiot. Priceless.

Tuco, many or most who fly the secessionist Confederate battle flag do so out of family tradition and not due to personal animus against Blacks. This isn't to say that they shouldn't wise up to the affect they have on racial relations. They should. But their world view is simply that of honoring their parents, not what their ancestors stood for. Explaining that to those whose families were and are the subject of racial bias and violence is not helpful either. The continued blending of ancestral groups (what some call intermarriage) gives me hope for moving beyond this within a few centuries.

Well they are, but calling them that garners antagonism instead of your desired goal.

I am not so sure. When I have been stupid and someone pointed it out, it helped me to be less stupid.

I have known quite a few people who clearly did not want to become either smart or sensitive. It's a self image thing, with its own lifestyle and its own social circle.
