Shyzzy, Tuco rants happen about once or twice a week. They have for a long time. Mostly he is in a learning mode where he pumps his chest out with some ill-conceived or illogically constructed argument about a current event and then someone who has a broader perspective and can separate the emotions / feeling of the moment enhances his perspective then he begins this diversion path which you see in the these last 10-12 posts...

Tuco, the 2nd amendment was not so people with guns could overthrow the government, it was so the government could not enslave the people.

If you want a more in depth and clearly better researched piece of journalism read the article by German Lopez published Oct 1 2017 at 5.20pm.

Phil, Leah Libresco and her colleagues set out to prove the efficacy of gun control laws, but ended up proving the opposite. Obviously you conclude that their research was flawed because they came to the "wrong" conclusion.

I would simply urge you to consider the simple fact that strict gun control will save thousands of lives, thousands, not to mention the seriously injured whose lives will be changed forever. Add to that the family members that are also impacted.

Australia has actually studied gun control and it's effectiveness in detail and we also have the experience to back it up. Start listening to reasoned arguments not the propaganda put out by those with vested interests. Our only vested interest is saving lives, period.

Phil, the only way gun control will make much difference is if all guns are banned, especially handguns. I am not willing to go that route because for me liberty is more valuable than even life itself.

Liberty is not about being able to carry a handgun, which as a small concealable weapon should most definitely be tightly restricted to use at a sporting club. Talk to a few gun owners that opposed the ban in Australia and they will all tell you they still can have a firearm and yet the public feels and more importantly is safer. There are always restrictions on what we can do even in a truly free society we both enjoy, there has to be laws and law enforcement otherwise anarchy would prevail
