I really hate to get involved in these discussions, but Tuco, aren't these same actions what the Dems have been asking for, for a long time? I think the motivation is more fear of not getting your cushy job back at election time than truth seeking.

I was trying to be charitable in Jeff flakes case. Machiavellian in McConnell and Trump's. And sincere in Rosenstein's and Mueller's.

I agree broll that in this case some on the right are bending to the will of the electorate. But isn't that what they are supposed to do? Also in terms of fairness, it is refreshing to see McConnell not just smack his shoes against the table and say Nyet!!

I still can't believe you Americans think it's remotely acceptable to have the judiciary with a political bias! Absolutely bizarre. They should be chosen for their impartiality and even handedness. This Kavanagh bloke is anything but.

I read a very interesting article that also highlights what is totally wrong in having a politically appointed justice system, and also an unbelievable problem of the male dominance and female sufferance that is still very prevalent in the US and how far behind you are to the rest of the world. I put this down predominantly to your political and judicial system. The article was written by Elizabeth Bruenig published in the Washington Post 19/9/18 regarding Amber Wyatt. Fortunately we keep our cases open and dan longer in Australia and many very old cold cases are now being prosecuted successfully.

Ah, tuco: The FBI "investigation" is a political farce, designed to give cover to Murkowski, Collins, Flake, etc when they vote for him.

The FBI isn't allowed to investigate the most recent of the claims. They're not allowed to verify employment records. They've been ordered to be done in less than a week.

They've been given a pre-approved list of people to interview and those are THE ONLY PEOPLE THEY'RE ALLOWED TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS.
