Finally the press can report on Pells guilty verdict. Shame press around the world disrespected the judicial system in Australia and chose to publish earlier. The second trial could have been prejudiced and was withdrawn which is why the suppression order was in place in the first place. The press sadly put at risk what may well have been a second guilty verdict. The Washington Post was one such disgraceful news outlet. Dumb reporting.

Phil, I'm not sure how I feel about judicial gag orders. As you know, in the US, it's the default that there is no gag order, and one is imposed only in unusual circumstances. Australia, I guess, is similar to Canada (where I lived for years) in imposing gag orders. I wouldn't cast the WaPo actions as disrespect, only standard under the US judicial system. I frankly don't know which is better.
