KT you are correct, not all gun violence will cease but a lot of lives would be saved. Handguns should also not be allowed in my book, along with silencers, very hard to get a handgun licence in Australia, as it should be. Leave the guns to law enforcement, citizens can go to a gun club, But more importantly the whole point was that children mental health is suffering. It os not normal anywhere except the US. Just accept the fact that gun controls result in a lot less innocent deaths. You probably won't of course, probably think its fake news

Phil - sure draconian gun control would result in a lower amount of gun deaths, just like draconian alcoholic beverage control would result in lower amounts of drunk driving deaths. While we are at it we could install draconian tobacco control and have less COPD, lung cancer, emphysema, and heart problems. To top it off we could have draconian diet control and eliminate obesity, diabetes, and other diet related problems. Let's implement draconian thought control and eliminate racism, sexism, and other "isms." I mean, why stop at guns?
