To be honest Diane, I think it will only take one thing, Trump to depart. The world just thinks he's a dangerous petulant fool. However, you all voted him in. Once is forgivable, if he gets back in, I suggest the rest of the world will isolate America and do far more form strong bonds with others. It will weaken the US and the whole world.

Just watched a show on US drug prices for insulin, given free by the Canadian inventors, now clearly price gouged for ridiculous profits by your system allowing it. You should all be ashamed for not lobbying and being vocal with putting pressure on the members of congress to change the laws around extending patents (nowhere else in the world) and having middle men who take 80% of jacked up profits.

The whole system is killing people who need it to survive.

Makes me so angry. Fortunately despite the US monopoly manufacturing (almost) and clear price fixing, Congress appears to be united on this one. Just hope they don't take the undoubted money lobbyists will spend and not do the right thing.

As a father of a daughter with type i diabetes, I am so, so glad we live in Aus and not the US. Come to think of it, Canada, Greece, Germany, would all be fine.

As an type 2 diabet my plan reduced the cost of iover 200 to 40. But reduced the amount of product that I use to receive. Now need other products to make up for that difference. Still to costly considering all factors with drug companies.

At least for the most part you can get off type 2 medication by switching to a low carb way of eating - Dr Michael Mosley if you need a reference. Throw out anything processed and eat fresh, preferably grass fed NOT grain fed which may be harder in the US. For type 1, without insulin you die.

Watch the magic pill on netflix, great place to start, and google Dr Michael Mosley - an English medical journo who is highly regarded around the world. Dr Bernstein is also a legend in his field.

Unfortunately as Jamie Oliver pointed out, the US has a massive problem in that nutritionally school kids were fed processed rubbish and assured it met all the food groups!

Not to say we don't have an obesity epidemic here too, fast food crap on every corner, but the tide is actually turning.

The Diet Doctor website is also a great resource, but better still, look up Dr Jason Fung, specifically the blog on his Intensive Dietary Management website. He is a nephrologist who has reversed many cases of type 2 diabetes using fasting.

Done with some completely unnecessary advanced tricks that looked so obvious.
By the way Phil, my daughter also has diabetes type 1. We have a complex system of mandatory health insurance in the Netherlands that covers most if not all un)common deseases. However, there is an own risk boudary of € 385 per year, sothat people woith a chronic desease have to pay that every year. They used to be compensated, but for some reason that compensation disappeared after 2008.
