Richard Thompson: Across a crowded room

Love that album. I am listening to Gerry Rafferty

Still hoping to see Richard Thompson at Cropredy in August, I have tickets, but who knows whether we afre able to gather in groups by then...

And I love Rafferty too, but do not own any of his albums yet (on vinyl). Next in line waiting to be played is a couple of albums by Caravan I bought recently.

I love the Land of Grey & Pink, and Cunning Stunts. Saw Caravan at last year's Cropredy. Enjoy!

The funny thing is: I can't remember whether I ever saw Thompson perform. I saw Fairport Convention on 30-01-1971 in Leiden, and according to the history of the band he left just before that concert. But in my (admittedly hazy) memory it was still a 5-man band

I bought my first Fairport album (Unhalfbricking) in 1972. It was the first album I ever bought. But I saw them for the very first time just last year at their Cropredy event. I hope to see them again on May 31st if the show isnt postponed. I wish I had had the opportunity to hear Sandy Denny singing with them.

My favourite Sandy Denny album is with Fotheringay. I bought it when it came out in 1970 and still have it. And the follow up North Star Grassman and the Raven is a close second. I do remember her performance with Fotheringay in Kralingen in 1970, but the sound was not very good then.

I have the Fotheringay album, I love it. North Star Grassmen and The Ravens is not only ion my collection but in my top ten albums of all time.

Interesting to meet someone with very similar musical taste :-)
