Epitaph on a Tyrant

Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after,
And the poetry he invented was easy to understand;
He knew human folly like the back of his hand,
And was greatly interested in armies and fleets;
When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter,
And when he cried the little children died in the streets.

That was quite a tantrum the server threw, at least 11 hours!

Here's my wish for humanity - no more tyrants.

Members of the band of Joni Mitchell's live tour in the early 1980's were the superb jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius and the equally superb jazz guitarist Pat Metheny.

Metheny later composed the music for a movie called The Falcon and the Snowman (1985) and one of the tracks was with David Bowie who also wrote the lyrics: "This is not America."
