you hold down shift when clicking a number and it will pop up green. a way of making pencil marks. I believe if you hold down alt it will make the number red

now i have 27, greens filled, and still stuck! yikes!

There are so few empty cells, I figure I should be able to see anything without greens. But I can't.

as i was filling in greens, i saw one thing i should've been able to catch without using greens...but besides that, i don't know how you got to 27 without using them!

Some duo virtuals helped.

i need to find a website that teaches me how to find these things without hints...i'm relatively new to sudoku

i wasn't able to figure out how to use that script, although i'm not sure i want to know...afraid i'll start relying on that, when i'm actually trying to wean myself off from greens :)

If you use the Firefox browser, there is a Java program called Autogreens that puts in all the greens for you.

Okay. I think I found the pair everybody was talking about. Funny I didn't see it without greens. I looked there often enough.

Done. And the line where the pair was, was right where I figured it had to be, and the last place I rechecked before resorting to greens.

*sigh* done, but no victory...my big finish involved a guess and a redo after guessing wrong first :(

yeah, no doubt...i think during my two week break from classes coming up, i'll keep my mind fresh by reading up on strategies to figure those out without guessing
